Indiana to decide on rail line
By Staff Reports | Thursday, July 09, 2009
From The Lima News:
FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- Lima Mayor David Berger attended a meeting in Indiana on Thursday during which the state announced it would decide on the route of its high-speed rail line.
The state will apply today for $49 million in federal funds to determine whether the line will run through South Bend or Fort Wayne, the latter of which is the preference for Lima officials, Berger said.
Berger said he was pleased the state is taking the next step in the process and that he would continue lobbying for the Fort Wayne route, which would run from Columbus to Chicago.
